Isobel Knight has been a Bowen Therapist for 11 years and trained in London under the Bowen Association UK. She is also an internationally published author having recently co-authored a book about Bowen, “Bowen Technique – treating complex and common conditions” with John Wilks.
Isobel has an expertise in connective tissue disorders, namely Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome – Hypermobility Type. She has written two books about EDS-HT, one aimed at patients, “Living with EDS-HT, Bending without Breaking” and one aimed at medical professionals, “A multidisciplinary approach to managing EDSIII – working the chronic complex patient” which includes contributions from leading experts in the field, including a chapter purely about Bowen by John Wilks). Isobel has written a range of papers about EDS-HT and Bowen and also about EDS and dancers, as many dancers and performing artists are hypermobile.
Isobel also gives lectures and workshops and is keen to take her work to international conferences. Isobel has also begun to research the use of Bowen with EDS patients and is presenting to an international conference later in the year. She is now involved in academic research with leading and international experts on EDS. Isobel is also interested in working with patients with autonomic disturbances such as those with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, ME and persistent pain. She also works with dancers and completed an MSc in ‘Dance Science’ at the leading Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Music in 2009.
